Three children, Dusty, Bowie, and Casper, have an entire Marine Reserve almost to themselves.Ã‚Â The bush, crashing ocean, steep cliffs, caves, and secret places fuel their imaginations and sense of adventure.
One day, however, a frightening reality arrives in their sleepy town.Ã‚Â The children are faced with great danger and needed to demonstrate courage, determination, and analytical skills.
The adventure tests their bravery and teaches them greater awareness, honesty, and resilience.
About The Author
James Turner. James was born in Melbourne.Ã‚Â He has written many poems and short stories and worked as a journalist for a suburban newspaper for many years.
James has a great affinity with the ocean and is a keen scuba diver, sailor, and kayaker.
The Bunurong Pirate is his first childrenÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s book and was inspired by visits to the caves along the cliffs at Inverloch, on the West Gippsland Coast, with his granddaughter and her friends.Ã‚Â There they would have many sea-side adventures and invent Pirate stories.
James lives in Southbank, Melbourne, with a lifetime collection of books and a chaotic hoard of camping gear, ski gear, diving gear and other stuff buried there.Ã‚Â He shares a family holiday-house at Inverloch, where the adventures continue.Ã‚Â He is currently writing a work of adult fiction as well as another childrenÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s book.
